💡Aha! Moment -

Knowing Isn’t the Same as Doing

I know how to eat healthy.
I know how to move my body.
I definitely know how much better I feel when I do both.

And yet… I haven’t been doing it.

The last few years have been full of big things.
Beautiful things. Meaningful things.
At times… heavy things.

We’ve navigated family transitions.
I wrote a book.
I built a business I’m incredibly proud of.
I’ve poured into clients, caregiving, and more to-do lists than I can count.

And somewhere along the way…
I also found the 50 pounds I had previously lost.
And quietly broke up with — well, actually ghosted — my Peloton. 😬

Recently, I’ve been noticing how easy it is to slip into a more sedentary rhythm — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
And I’m hearing it from others too:
Tired. Disconnected. A little stuck.

So I asked myself: What’s really going on?

I turned to a tool I use all the time in coaching — the ADKAR model.
It’s a change framework that outlines five ingredients for lasting transformation:Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement.

When I looked at it honestly, I realized:
I’ve got the awareness.
I definitely have the knowledge.
Even the ability.

What I’m missing?
Desire.
And the kind of accountability that supports reinforcement — those external nudges, tiny structures, or connections that help keep change alive.

And honestly?
I’m not beating myself up about it.

Because here’s what I know, as a coach and as a human:

We don’t need to be perfect to make progress.
We can be kind to ourselves and still want something more.
Exhaustion doesn’t mean failure. It means we’ve been doing a lot.

This week, I started small: focusing on breakfast and beginning my day with intention.
Not a dramatic overhaul.
But a shift.
A choice to start again... not over.

If you’re feeling stuck or unmotivated, I see you. Truly.
You’re not lazy. You’re just human. And probably a little tired, too.

And hey, if you’re local and want to go for a walk, let me know.
I’d love a walking buddy.

We don’t have to do it all.
But we can take one small step.
Together.

One Thing to Know

🏨 Event Essentials - Rethinking the Coffee Break. Let’s be honest, most event coffee breaks are… fine. Coffee, maybe some muffins, a chance to check your phone, or catch your breath. But what if they could be more?

This is something I’ve been thinking about lately: what if we reimagined the coffee break?

Instead of a quick refuel, what if it became a moment of connection? A space to spark creativity, build relationships, or just step out of autopilot?

Imagine mini pop-up workshops, live demos, or themed conversation corners. These would not be forced networking events but real opportunities for people to talk, share, and get inspired.

And let’s not forget the fuel. We can do better than lukewarm coffee and standard snacks. Think: smoothie stations, herbal teas, build-your-own snack bars, or local favorites that reflect the community. It’s a small detail that makes a big impression and tells attendees, “We thought about you.”

The coffee break doesn’t have to be a throwaway moment. It can be an intentional touch point that re-energizes people, deepens engagement, and makes your event truly stand out.

Let’s make the pause just as powerful as the presentation.

🏰 a_far_off_place by Katy Lampe - Thinking about a Disney Cruise!? Wondering what all you get?? If this list sounds good- reach out for a free quote! 🚢

🎭 Broadway-style shows

🎆 Fireworks at sea

🍽️ Amazing dining experiences

🛏️Spacious staterooms for families

🍔 24 hour room service

✨ Kids clubs and spaces for adults only

🌴 Stops at Disney's very own private island- or islands, depending on the itinerary!

And more!

🏫 Learned - Sometimes the “obvious” thing is the magic. A client recently thanked me for something I thought was basic — one of those “everyone probably knows this” kind of moments. Except… not everyone does.

It reminded me: just because something feels obvious to us doesn’t mean it’s obvious to everyone. And sometimes, it’s those foundational things, the simplest shifts, that create the biggest impact.

It’s a good check for all of us: don’t underestimate the basics. They might be the thing someone else needed most.

✔️ Accomplished - Gave my LinkedIn profile a much-needed refresh! This one felt overdue. I finally updated my LinkedIn profile: new banner (hello slideshow feature 👋), reworked my About section, and added some featured highlights.

It’s amazing how something as simple as a profile update can feel like a full-on reintroduction. The new banner gives it energy, the About section now actually reflects where I’m at, and the featured section gives people an easy way to engage with me.

If you haven’t looked at your own profile in a while, consider this your nudge. It doesn’t have to be a total overhaul, just enough to feel aligned with the season you’re in. Small shifts, big difference.

Want a second set of eyes on yours? I’m happy to peek and give you some ideas.

🤔Insight for the Week

It’s not what we have in life, but who we have in our life that matters. ~ Unknown

❓Ask Kristen

Q: What’s the first thing you work on with new coaching clients?

A: Great question! The very first thing I focus on with a new coaching client is clarity—getting clear on who they are, what they value, and what truly lights them up. We start by identifying their core values, passions, and interests—because without that foundation, any goal we set will feel misaligned or forced.

I believe when you’re in alignment with what matters most to you, the rest becomes so much easier to navigate. So we look at where they are now, where they want to go, and—most importantly—why it matters to them. It’s not just about chasing success; it’s about creating a life and career that feels deeply fulfilling.

From there, we co-create a vision that reflects their authentic self, and then we turn that vision into clear, actionable steps. That’s when the momentum builds. It’s such a powerful part of the journey—when someone reconnects with their spark and starts to believe in what’s possible again.
