💡Aha! Moment
Let’s be real—doubt doesn’t disappear just because you run your own business.
If anything, it shows up more often. And louder.
And every leader I know—no matter how seasoned—hits these moments.
That stretch of quiet.
The client who says no.
The launch that falls flat.
You start wondering if you’re on the right path… or if it’s time to get a “real job.”
Doubt doesn’t just rattle your confidence. It messes with your energy, your focus, and how you show up as a leader.
Here’s the truth I’ve learned:
Doubt doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
It just means you’re stepping into something that matters.
So when it shows up, I don’t fight it. I respond to it.
- I phone a friend. Not for advice—just connection. A reminder I’m not in this alone.
- I look at my results. Even the small ones. I write them down and read them back to myself. It resets my perspective.
- I take a break. Not to check out—but to breathe. Reconnect. Remember why I started.
I used to think confidence meant never feeling doubt.
Now I know it means not letting doubt steer the ship.
Doubt is a visitor—not a guide. You don’t have to give it the map.
✨ I’d love to know: What’s your go-to move when doubt tries to take the mic?
One Thing to Know
🏨 Event Essentials - Food Allergies & Dietary Needs: Building Inclusive Menus That Actually Taste Good
Inclusive meals aren’t just about checking boxes—they’re about showing care. When vegetarian, gluten-free, or allergy-friendly meals are clearly an afterthought, it’s felt. But when they’re thoughtfully crafted and taste just as great as everything else? That’s hospitality. And it reflects on your brand.
Tip: When reviewing your menu, ask:
- “If you had this dietary restriction, which dish would you be excited to eat?”
- “How will these options be labeled on the menu?"
- “Will they be served alongside eveyrone else at their table OR before or after all the other meals are served?
These simple questions signals you expect quality—not just accommodation.

🏫 Learned - Joy Can Come from the Simplest Things
I picked up a pack of BIC 4-Color pens at Office Depot this week—yes, the ones from childhood—and I have no regrets. I don’t know if it’s nostalgia, the color options, or just the satisfying click, but they genuinely make me happy. Sometimes a small, unexpected spark of joy is the best productivity tool there is.
🖊 Here’s the exact pack I grabbed if you want your own tiny burst of color.
✔️ Accomplished - This week was full of travel, hotel tours, and face-to-face connection—the best kind of workweek! I had the opportunity to go on site visits with two different clients, first in Dallas and then in Orlando. After a year of working together virtually, it was such a joy to finally meet them in person. There's something about walking a space together, seeing the layout firsthand, and talking through the event vision live—it makes a huge difference.
A huge thank-you to the Convention & Visitor Bureaus in Frisco, Grapevine, Fort Worth, and Orlando for the warm welcome and incredible support. From hotel walkthroughs to dinner venues, you made these visits seamless and so informative. It was equal parts productive and energizing—exactly how site visits should feel.
🤔Insight for the Week
Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.
— Suzy Kassem
Doubt is sneaky. It doesn’t show up waving red flags—it whispers just enough to make you hesitate. But hesitation adds up. That’s why learning to respond to doubt, instead of retreating from it, is one of the most powerful leadership skills you can build.
❓A Question Worth Asking
Each week in KIWK, I’ll share a question—something I’m thinking about or asking my clients in coaching sessions. My hope? That it helps you pause, reflect, or lead a little more intentionally this week.
🟡 This week’s question: When doubt shows up, do you react—or do you respond?
